Recently, the final result of Wenhan Qiaoshan Cultural and Creative Product Design Competition in Nanhai District of Foshan City was announced, and the student teams of our school have made outstanding achievements.
According to the Organizing Committee of the competition, 456 works were received from home and abroad. After the preliminary evaluation and final competition, all the works were divided into 2 groups:creative product designs of cultural tourism and creative product designs of intangible cultural heritage.Two first prizes (15000 yuan), four second prizes (7000 yuan), six third prizes (3000 yuan) and eighteen excellent prizes were awarded. The work “Xiqiao, Saunterring and Seeing”, by Lin Huiting and Ouyang Yulin, students from Grade 2017 Cultural Industry Management, Liang Zhuqing from the Academy of Fine Arts, won the second prize of creative product designs of cultural tourism. The work "Hidden in the City · An Ancient Village" by Li Qike and Chen Guoliang, students from Grade 2019 Cultural Industry Management,Zeng Rui and Feng Yiheng,students from Grade 2019 Network and New Media, won the Third prize of the creative product designs of intangible cultural heritage.
During the course of the competition, the students clung to the purpose of the competition, applied the professional theories to the practical innovation, actively excavated the most distinctive and excellent culture of Lingnan ,integrated it into the modern life, and let the essence of the Chinese tradition regain its brilliance. “Xiqiao, Saunterring and Seeing”is based on the IP image of the folk music giant Buddha Nanbao. With the help of tourism commemorative seal, it connects Xiqiao's characteristic scenic spots and the intangible cultural heritage, creates a notepad, commemorative stamp and stickers, closely combining cultural knowledge with tourism activities. Taking three ancient villages in Xiqiao as the design core and centering on the theme of "Wenhan Qiaoshan · the most Lingnan",the work "Hidden in the City · An Ancient Village" leads people into three ancient villages to understand the culture of ancient villages and the charm of traditional Lingnan architecture. Ouyang Yulin expressed her feelings in participating in the competition: "We should try more, challenge more and innovate more. The cultural creative products which are interactive, practical and profitable are more likely to win". She also encouraged the students of SUC to participate in the activities inside and outside the school, and to light up the cultural heritage with creativity. Li Qike said: "as a grass-root team, in this competition, we feel like fumbling the way to cross the river. From the beginning of discussing the feasibility of our products, to what products to make, and then to the generation of the pictures of the products, we can not do without the efforts of every partner, and now we have learned some skills.At the same time,limited by our technical skills and the time, there are some flaws in the final work. It's a kind of pleasant surprise to win the third prize in the end. We need to keep trying in the future! "
